A new Changing Places Toilet is now available at Fethard Primary Care Centre in Co. Tipperary, providing an important accessible facility for people who require additional space, specialist equipment and the assistance of one or more carers.
The facility is located on the ground floor, to the left of the main entrance, making it straightforward to access within the Primary Care Centre. The room measures 12.8 square metres and has an outward-opening 1000mm door.
For people with complex changing needs, having access to an appropriately equipped facility can make a significant difference when attending healthcare appointments or visiting the local area. A Changing Places Toilet provides the space and equipment needed for people who cannot use a standard accessible toilet safely or comfortably.
Access and opening hours
The facility is currently unlocked and available from:
Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm
Opening hours may be subject to change.
Supporting greater access to healthcare and community life
For many people with complex care needs, knowing that a suitable Changing Places Toilet is available can influence whether a visit or journey is possible at all.
The availability of this facility at Fethard Primary Care Centre adds another location to Ireland’s growing network of Changing Places Toilets and provides an important resource for local people and visitors to the area.
Changing Places Ireland would like to thank Martin Kennedy and the team at Fethard Primary Care Centre for providing the facility and making it available to those who need it.
Every new Changing Places facility helps to create a more accessible Ireland, where people with complex changing needs can participate more fully in everyday life.
