Changing Places Toilets are important to thousands of individuals with complex hygiene needs that require specialised equipment, that a standard accessible toilet can not provide. CPT’s allows the user to be independent in toileting and provide additional supports for carers. A spacious CPT under the current Building Regulations specifications will accommodate the turn circle of oversized powered wheelchairs and provide added space for up to 2 carers.
CPT’s allow individuals with either a visible or invisible disability access to suitable bathroom facilities which promotes dignity and respect. Providing CPT’s across Ireland will promote an inclusive society with affirms and protects the human rights of people with disabilities.
Thousands of people like Ailis and Jack will have access to CPT’s where ever they travel to, across Ireland and be able to plan outings with family and friends, so their experience is fulfilling and memorable like their peers.
