Step-Down facilities in the Republic of Ireland 
There are 12 step-down facilities nationwide. These locations provide adult changing facilities with some of the features of a Changing Places toilet but not all the requirements and may provide useful facilities from a standard disabled toilet. These CPTs are denoted by a yellow star on the Map.
- Bluestack Foundation & Bluestack Shack cafe, The Glebe, Donegal Town F94 X31V

E: info@bluestackfoundation.com Bluestack Foundation - “Currently closed for renovations to comply with current building standards” Delta Garden Centre, Strawhall, Co Carlow has an accessible toilet that includes a hoist and a changing bench that is open to members of the public. - MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, Kilkenny, has a facility with all of the features associated with a Changing Place but does not include a hoist.

- Kells Swimming Pool, Co. Meath has a facility with an adult changing bench, a hoistand a toilet that is open to all visitors to the region. Kells Swimming Pool

- Narin and Portnoo Public Toilet, Donegal F94 HDX3, located in the carpark by a Blue Flag beach. Open all year round, Monday- Sunday, including bank holidays, 9.00am – 9.00pm. The facility is fully equipped with Braille Identification signage, Defibrillator and contact information in emergencies. A wheelchair is available and can be used safely with the hoist system.
- Cabinteely Park, Park Drive, Cabinteely, Dublin 18 D18 HEE0, located within the toilet block beside the car park and accessed using an Abloy Key. Open during park opening hours Sept 8am to 8pm, Oct 8am to 7pm, Nov – Jan 8am to 5pm. For emergency key contact Café Monday – Sunday 9.30am to 6pm (except during Nov – Jan where opening times are between 9.30am to 5pm)
- Deansgrange Library, Clonkeen Dr, Deansgrange, Dublin located at the Adult area in the library and accessed 365 days a year. However out of staffed hours access requires registration with the Open Library in advance. http://Deansgrange Library
- Lexlcon Library, Moran Park, Queen’s Road, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin A96 H283 located in the cafe at lower ground floor level, accessed with an Abloy Key. Open during Café opening hours Sunday – Monday 7am to 6pm and Thursday – Saturday 7am to 9pm.
- Loughlinstown Leisure Centre, Loughlinstown Drive, Loughlinstown, Dublin 18 A96 XP60 No key required and available for pool users only, accessed via changing rooms. Opening hours Monday to Friday 6.30am – 10.00pm; Saturday 9.00am – 6.00pm; Sunday 10.00am – 6.00pm; Bank Holidays Closed. Please check with leisure centre at above contact details for any seasonal changes to opening hours.
- Wicklow Way Café, Marlay Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16 D16 NH02 Installed by Dún Laoighaire and Rathgar County Council. A Step-down facility where equipment has been added to an existing disabled toilet. Located on the lower ground floor. Accessed via lift in the café and no key required. Opened Mon – Sun 9.00am – 4.00pm Please check with café at above phone number for any seasonal changes to opening hours.
Disclaimer:
The facilities marked on the Google map with a red symbol have not been through a registration process and CPI takes no responsibility for the accuracy of information provided. On the 1st Jan 2023 new legislation was enacted and Changing Places standards will now fall under Building Regulations Part M. With this change, these facilities are now mandatory in certain Public Buildings. These new building regulations are on a formal, legislated footing and enhanced; thus are not identical to previous standards advised by CPI.
We advise all planned Changing Places facilities meet the Building Regulations Part M and seek registration when completed.
